You need to explore your career options if you are considering a career change. The first step of this process is called self assessment and it's during that phase that you get to (re)discover what you really want to do for living. Knowing what you really want to work is the corner stone of every successful career. You can have various different career options, but if they are not in the field that you desire to work in, than they are no good. You might actually start working something like that, but if you don't really like it, it will only harm you mentally and even lead to depression and other serious conditions. Of course, sometimes we have no choice and have to start working something immediately whether we like the job or not only for the money. But if you are not in a bad financial position, then you should explore only the career options you are interested in and work something that's actually a hobby for you so that you will enjoy doing it and not feel it like added pressure or stress. Every single one us wants to work something that has meaning to it, perhaps something that makes the world a better place. Knowing that your work is actually appreciated and well-rewarded are the most important things when exploring the different career options you might have. After conducting the self-assessment tests, you should have several interesting career options that are well worth exploring. The list shouldn't contain more than five different entries. Now comes the stage during which you actually start to examine each career option in order to decide what's best. You do this be learning as much as possible about them. Check the job descriptions, find out what's the typical salary per year, what are the job outlooks, if possible talk with people who work that to give you some useful insights. After doing this research, it's more than likely that you will drop several of the entire in your occupational list. For example, you could have found that you can't meet some of the requirements of a given job, or that it has some aspects that you simple don't like. At the end, your list should shrink to just two or three career options. In the final part of the whole 'Career Change' process, you have to dig deeper in order to make the final decision and start going at job interviews for a specific position. Make some calls, check out what is it to actually work these types of jobs that you are still considering. You need all the internal information that you can get. Read web forums. After doing all this in depth research, you should be able to come up with a clear answer as to which career option is best for you.
